Eliyan SiteGround

Meet Our Top Customer Care Rep for March

Eliyan is one of the people for whom working at SiteGround is not just a job, but a true passion. Full of ambition and commitment, Eliyan made a huge transition from being a barber to jumping into the hosting career. Just 6 months after joining SiteGround, he is now on top of our Customer Care Rep of the Month ranking. Find out more about him in the interview!

What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

Eliyan: I was a barber before I joined SiteGround, maybe that one is a gem – making the transition from a barber’s life to the hosting career is quite the jump and change of environment. (I was good, though! hehe).

What piece of advice would you give to people starting out in website management?

Eliyan: The most important thing is to make a research on what your website should be based on – would you use an application such as WordPress, Joomla or Magento to have it created, or you’d rather code it yourself. If you ask me, I’d personally use WordPress as it is a super intuitive and user-friendly platform.

What’s your best tip on website speed and security?

Eliyan: I see many customers who come over the live chat for different kind of hosting issues and I keep noticing that they have neither CloudFlare CDN nor Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate. People, please use them, you can only benefit from using these two tools – I doubt you won’t like having your website shown as fully secured to your viewers or boosting its speed like a space rocket? 🙂

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

Eliyan: People’s gratitude – that’s absolutely enough for me after they recognize the fact that I managed to help them out. 🙂

What tools do you use for productivity?

Eliyan: I could share many tools because an environment like ours requires a lot of multitasking and quick decision-making without hesitating:

whois.com – a great tool for identifying a domain’s status;
whynopadlock.com – maybe one of the best tools out there that can reveal the insecure items on your SSL page.
dnswatch.info – it’s the best tool for propagation checks after domain changes are made;

All of these tools help me solve 70% of my client cases – I don’t see myself without them. 🙂

Do you have a favorite quote or motto?

Eliyan: Good things in life take time to come true.

  1. Nice advice. Im deciding between bluehost and siteguard. I care about customer service A LOT. You guys should have profiles of all your customer service representatives on your website, not just a few people.
    Anyways, nice interview.
